24 HOUR DRESS
We had to pack everything we needed for two weeks into a suitcase while we wait for our moving truck to arrive to Houston. And even then, most our belongings are going into storage until we can find a home. Needless to say, I had to be very strategic about our packing strategy. This dress […]
ICE CREAM, YOU SCREAM
We made it to Houston! And it feels really good to be back in Texas. We have been so busy checking off our to do list of all the things we need in Texas that we didn’t need in New York. You know, like cars and a house. (!) The car part was much easier since our […]
Our internet is already turned off and we are waiting for the movers to arrive. I popped into the coffee shop down the street to publish this post and as I sit here there are a million emotions running through my head. I know this is not the last New York coffee shop I will be […]
The last stop on our apartment tour is Knox’s nursery. His nursery theme is ‘vintage aeronautical’ because we think it’s cute, but also because my father is a commercial airline pilot and my grandfather flew in World War II. The airplanes on the wall above Knox’s glider were in my father and brother’s nurseries. I don’t want to […]
A CALMING BEDROOM
The next room up in our apartment tour is our ‘master ‘bedroom. I shared the new wall color last week here, but these pictures were taken before the paint update. We haven’t changed much in this room since our last bedroom reveal in our first TriBeCa apartment (seen here) or even much from our very first […]

Sale season is in full swing and nothing excites me more than a good bargain! You can imaging my excitement when I was introduced to Ebay’s Designer Collective. You can shop your favorite designers (at a discount), but equally exciting (I’m a little OCD), you can organize your wish list into ‘collections‘. I love the collections for laying out your new fall wardrobe, packing for a vacation or simply organizing your lust list. The other awesome thing about the concept is that you can view and shop your friends collections, as well. Create your own boards and be sure to follow mine… I am especially loving all the summer styles!
This post was brought to you in partnership with Ebay. All opinions expressed are my own. Thank you for supporting the brands that make HOUSE of HARPER possible!

This dress made the cut because it easily transitions from day to night. I wore it to church on Sunday with a pair of heels, and I have dressed it down with my sneakers. My wardrobe needed some fun colors and prints as I have been gravitating to basic colors and solids lately. I love the floral print with the pop of neon along the trim.

And it feels really good to be back in Texas. We have been so busy checking off our to do list of all the things we need in Texas that we didn’t need in New York. You know, like cars and a house. (!) The car part was much easier since our cousins have a dealership in town, but the house part is proving to be a bit more challenging in this market. If you aren’t familiar with what is going on in Houston now… It. Is. Crazy. The economy is booming, and more people are moving here than any other county in the country. More people means more people bidding on the houses we want. I’ll keep you posted on that front, but in the meantime, wish us luck. (We need it!)
One of the things I am most excited about now that we are back in Texas is reconnecting with all our dear friends from growing up and college. While we were in New York, a lot changed. We had Knox and our friend’s families grew, as well. I can’t wait to head to the neighborhood pool with the kids for playdates. (Because it is just too hot to play in the yard on most summer days.)
When it comes to easy, fun summer pool clothes you simply can’t beat Old Navy. Before we left the city, I picked up a bright new swim suit, this denim skirt & light weight stripe shirt / cover-up. I know I will be living in easy, cool throw on clothes this summer at the lake and pool, but I still want to look cute. I love how this effortlessly transitions from cover-up to running around town.
I popped over to a street vendor’s stand and bought this hat before shooting the look and I must say, I have worn it ever since! I lost my J.Crew one last summer, but this little $15 dollar one seems to be working just fine, so far.
