j.crew

On any given day, you will likely spot me wearing a favorite designer purchased on major clearance or on gilt.com (my burberry coated jeans or these louboutin shoes), my go-to j.crew staples (a coat in the winter, my denim shirt all year around), and a piece of clothing purchased from some where of the h&m/forever21/zara variety.

Today’s case in point, this ($20!) LBD from Wal-Mart, designed by fellow blogger Shauna Miller.

I adopted this high-low style aesthetic my first year out of college when I started my career in fashion at Neiman Marcus.  I quickly realized I couldn’t afford to dress myself in everything from the store, but (with my discount) I was able to start building a wardrobe with a few pieces a season that I could pair with fast fashion to make the whole outfit look expensive.

So, what do you think?  Would you have ever guessed this adorable number could be found on walmart.com for only $20?  Well done, Shauna!  Thank you for helping me look stylish without hurting my wallet.  (FMK thanks you too!)
