We are celebrating Mother’s Day this weekend by staying in town and spending quality time with our little family. With all of our travels lately, I am looking forward to a low-key weekend at home, just me and the boys.
Being a mom of two boys has me pretty outnumbered in our home. One day I am sure this will mean getting left out of the afternoon golf games or weekend camping trips, but at the young ages of just one and three it means I get to be queen of the house.

Knox has the biggest heart and is such a thoughtful little boy. I honestly don’t know how this tradition started, but everyday (M/W/F), he brings me home a ‘treasure’ from school. It started as a leaf from the playground, but my guess is he saw my enthusiastic reaction to the idea of him actually thinking of me when he was on the playground with his friends so he kept the tradition going. My heart still melts every time he gets in the car and shares ‘my treasure’ with me. (Even on days we have to return it to the teachers because he brought me something from the classroom that is supposed to stay in the classroom). I tell him every time that I don’t need a treasure because he is my treasure, but he may never know how true that really. Probably until he is a father to his own child. (Funny how that works, isn’t it?)
And then there is our precious little Andrew. I can honestly say no one can make you feel loved quite like baby Drew and it is simply with his hugs. He is hands down the best hugger I know and it isn’t just his mom saying this. When he sees anyone in our family or our babysitter, he wraps his little arms around us, lays his sweet cheeks on your shoulder and squeezes with all his might. And he isn’t afraid to hold it either. He will give you the world’s best hug for a good 30 seconds, if you are lucky.
They may not appreciate me sharing this one-day, but the boys love helping me get ready in the morning or for date night with Dad. Andrew loves playing with my make-up brushes and Knox loves brushing my hair. Little Andrew will even sit still and let Knox brush his hair, too. It might be the cutest thing you have ever seen. This ruins my secret of what I actually look like without make-up (which is a lot of the time when I am at home with the boys), but when I get ‘ready’ Knox always asks me ‘Why do you look pretty, Mommy?” I think this is his way of asking me where I am going because it usually means I have plans, but it always makes me laugh.
Speaking of getting ready, how perfect is this one shoulder maxi dress from the Vince Camuto summer collection? Being that Knox’s favorite color is blue, he loved it so much! He literally said, “You look beautiful, Mommy.” And I didn’t even have to bribe him. 😉 In true big brother style, he is quite the little helper these days so he helped me accessorize with a comfortable pair of wedges and a summer white bag, both have already become staples in my closet.
I truly love Vince Camuto for their fashion forward styles that don’t break the bank. I can always count on a consistent fit and high quality product at an affordable price point. What more could a mom want? (Besides the two adorable assistants, of course.)
