meet the founder Caroline Harper Knapp
Caroline founded HOUSE of HARPER in 2011 as a weekend pastime to showcase her personal style while working in New York City’s fashion industry. By 2013, it had grown into something far more than she ever imagined when she published that first blog post. After signing with Digital Brand Architects, a leading influencer management and marketing agency, and welcoming their first child, Caroline left her corporate buying job to focus on HOUSE of HARPER full-time.
Becoming a mom and moving back to her home state of Texas inspired Caroline to share more of her passions – family, entertaining, and home decor – transforming HOUSE of HARPER into a well-rounded lifestyle destination. Her ability to combine stunning visuals with a relatable approach to life and style created an inviting platform that consistently attracted a loyal audience and significant brand partnerships.
In 2020, Caroline chose to pause her flourishing career to be fully present for her family after the arrival of their third child, Millie. What she anticipated would be an extended maternity leave became a five-year chapter of its own. She immersed herself in life with her husband and three children, Knox, Andrew, and Millie, knowing these years were ones she could never get back.
Away from blogging, Caroline quietly channeled her creative energy into interior design, partnering with clients to transform their homes with intention and ease. Drawing from her luxury fashion background, she brings a trained eye for proportion, texture, color, and timeless style – balancing beauty and function to create spaces that feel collected, livable, and enduring.
Now, Caroline is excited to reconnect with longtime readers and welcome new ones here and on Substack, where she’ll continue sharing her evolving journey – blending the old with the new, and inspiring women in a way that feels both fresh and familiar.
We’ll leave the light on for you over at The Front Porch.
