Caroline earned her Marketing degree from Texas A&M in 2006 and subsequently joined the Neiman Marcus Executive Development Program in Dallas, training to become a Buyer in Women’s Fine Apparel. After four years with Neiman Marcus, she fulfilled a lifelong dream by relocating to New York City, where she became part of the Women’s Merchandising team at Gilt Group while her husband attended Columbia Business School. It was during this time that Caroline recognized the chance to adapt to the rapidly evolving online landscape by merging her passion for fashion with entrepreneurship, leading her to launch HOUSE of HARPER as a weekend project in 2011.
What started as a space to showcase her personal style transformed significantly when she became a mother to their first son, Knox. Although fashion remained a key focus, topics such as family, entertaining, and home decor began to take precedence, turning HOUSE of HARPER into a comprehensive lifestyle destination.
As an early pioneer in the blogging world, situated at the heart of NYC’s fashion industry, Caroline capitalized on being in the right place at the right time, and HOUSE of HARPER evolved into something far beyond any expectation she might have had when she penned that first blog post.
Caroline’s talent for blending stunning visuals with her relatable approach to life and style has created a welcoming platform that attracts a dedicated readership and significant brand collaborations.
In 2020, Caroline quietly pressed pause on her busy career to soak up precious family time after welcoming their youngest child, Millie. What she thought would be an extended maternity leave turned into a nearly four-year career pause. During this time, she embraced time with her husband and her three children, Knox, Andrew, and Millie, fully aware that these magical years weren’t a time she could ever get back!
Recently, Caroline has channeled her love for interior design into offline work, assisting clients in transforming their homes. She brings her fashion-world expertise—emphasizing creativity, style, functionality, trends, textures, and color palettes—to her design projects.
Looking ahead, Caroline is eager to reconnect with HOUSE of HARPER in the coming year, sharing her evolving journey while blending the old with the new, continuing to inspire women in a fresh yet familiar manner.
