I have a confession, I have kept a big secret from y’all. I have been working on a total brand and blog revamp behind your backs (I know, I am sorry!), but it is finally time to share the exciting news! I have thought about this for a long time (over a year) and after talking about it over brunch one morning with Grace, I finally decided to take her recommendation and get in touch with CooperHouse. After months of coming up with the perfect branding with Erin and finalizing all the details of the site with Tim – I am so excited to tell you we are ready for launch on MONDAY! I kind of feel like it is my first baby (before the real one gets here).
Since y’all have been so kind and instrumental in keeping CITC running for the last two years, I feel like I owe you my thoughts and reasons behind this change.
You might be wondering “Why the name change?”. I decided to change the blog name for a few reasons: First, I found it confusing that the domain (www.sweetcarolineinthcity.com) and name (Caroline in the City) were different. Also, looking back, it wasn’t the smartest idea to pick a name that was once a popular tv show. And lastly, I wanted a name that would grow with me and the blog and CITC limits the content to New York.
Once I decided the name change was better sooner than later, the fun of thinking of a new name began. Here are a few things I thought about (thanks to Erin) that may be helpful to anyone else thinking about starting a blog or going through this processes themselves.
- I wanted the name to be something that will grow with me and still be relevant in 5 years, 10 years.
- I wanted the name to be personal and relevant.
- I wanted the name to represent all aspects of my present life and any possible future lifestyle changes and/or opportunities.
With all that said (sorry for the TMI), the new site will be… HOUSE of HARPER!
mongogram designed by Garrett
I chose this name because it is timeless and will still feel relevant in the years to come (I hope!). The “Harper” comes from my maiden name and now my middle name so it is still personal to me. Plus, I love that “House” can mean so many things! All of which are very relevant to the current and future content of this blog: A fashion house (Ex. the House of Chanel), our little family’s home (welcome baby Knapp!), entertaining & interior design (both of which are a growing passion of mine as I get older).
Please bear with Tim and me as we get the site fully transferred this weekend for a launch first thing Monday morning. Also, don’t be confused when you see HOUSE of HARPER popping up in your social media feeds – it’s just me.
Again, thank you all so much for reading this blog and helping make it what it has become. I couldn’t have done it without each and every one of you. Your comments and visits make my day, everyday.
xo,
Caroline

How exciting, Caroline! Congratulations!! I know how rewarding (albeit scary!) big changes can be. I love the new name (Harper is an adorable baby girl name too…) and the monogram is gorgeous. Would absolutely love to guest post there sometime in the future. All the best!!

This is sooo exciting and such a great idea!!! You are such a talented individual and I know you had lots of help but your are the inspiration to this and I have no doubt it will be just as fabulous as CTIC is. You have huge new chapters in your life unveiling and with new things come change. You embrace them and make them beautiful just like you are! I am so excited for you and FMK. I remember when you were sitting at my desk many moons ago and we were talking baby names, probably because i was pregnant with Neeley. Well here we are your first little bundle of JOY!
I pray God’s greatest blessings to you, FMK and Baby Knapp. If you ever come to College Station with that baby and don’t call me you will be in BIG TROUBLE miss! 🙂
Blessings to you!
