With Christmas less than a week away we are in major crunch mode around here! I am almost done with holiday shopping, but somehow I always end up with Fred remaining on my list. Is it just me, or are the men in your life the hardest to shop for?! I tell him I like to save the best for last! 😉
If Fred needs something, he usually just grabs it for himself (no fun), but the truth is he just doesn’t want/need much. For that reason, I am always scavenging to find that perfect something to let him know how much we appreciate everything he does for our little family and just how much we love him!
This year, I decided to get him something that he can have forever and even pass on to our boys, a timeless watch. I love that throughout the day, every time he checks the time, he will be reminded of his family and what he means to us. I stopped by our local Bailey Banks & Biddle in Town & Country Village to shop their Longines collection and narrow down my favorites. I finally had it down to three watches that I felt could be perfect for different occasions, before settling on the perfect final one.
I first fell in love with The Conquest 1/100 stainless steel watch because it felt the most everyday to me. I know it would take Fred from the office to a football game in style and he wouldn’t ever need to worry about changing his timepiece. Plus, this one is exceptionally cool for all the tennis lovers on your list! As an Official Partner and Timekeeper of the French Open, Longines created this special edition Conquest 1/100th Roland Garros as a tribute to the greatest tennis tournament on clay courts that houses a unique movement using the latest-generation technologies.
The orange accents on the hands, the dial or the flange indexes subtly hint at the iconic clay of the French Open courts, while the case back is engraved with the logo of Roland Garros. The Conquest 1/100th series responds to the needs of athletes and sports fans since it measures multiple intermediary times and has an intuitive analogue display that shows the time to one hundredth of a second using a separate hand. What’s not to love?!
I also love this elegant collection with the black leather strap for a dressier watch. I can see Fred enjoying this style at work paired with his suits. Plus, it’s stainless steel 39 mm case has a scratch resistant sapphire crystal and is fitted with a self-winding movement with about 42 hours power reserve so it makes for a low maintenance and highly durable watch for a busy dad! I love the visual lightness of the design and clean lines. The alligator strap is a beautiful finishing touch!
Lastly, this classic Conquest brown leather band with the contrast stitching caught my eye for a stylish, casual weekend watch. True to the brand’s values of elegance, tradition and performance, the Conquest Classic is fitted with self-winding automatic movement in its stainless steel case and rose gold bezel, making it totally contemporary, but perfectly timeless at the same time.
I guess Fred will have to wait to see what is under the Christmas tree! 😉
