Since transitioning from working in the corporate fashion industry to becoming a full-time blogger and stay at home mom, I am discovering new things about myself and my working style every day. I thought I would love working from home in my pjs, but I have found that I miss getting dressed up for the office.
It is a balancing act trying to give Knox everything he needs and still finding time to respond to emails in a timely manner, create daily content, and keep up with the more administrative task that come with running your own business (and being the only employee). I am still trying to figure it all out, but one thing that seems to be working is my Wednesday meeting schedule. I try to schedule any meetings, showroom visits, etc. on Wednesday when our babysitter has a free day to spend a few hours with Knox.
I love having this consistent one day a week where I know I can put on my work wardrobe, interact with my peers and feel like my old self again. I would love to hear from other working moms how you balance your time and what you have found works best for you.

I completely know how you feel! I’m a stay at home mom and full-time blogger (or at least trying to be!) and it’s been a challenge to balance it all without having a nanny or having Cora in daycare. I definitely don’t get much done during the day since she’s so active and requires so much attention (she literally gets into everything now) but after she goes to bed is when I get to do some work and admin stuff. And I definitely get someone to watch her at least once a week for a few hours so I can get a break (so needed, right?) and get some work done during daylight hours. Luckily, Caitlin (stylewithinreach) lives near me so we try to meet up as often as we can – sooo good meeting with other bloggers too! It’s tough balancing it all but you’re doing it beautifully!!! Btw, love this outfit! That vest and skirt are
Hey, great post! I think obtaining work life balance will always be an ongoing effort and never perfect! I am the mother of 3, work in a pressured corporate environment and blog as well. Over the past couple of years, Ive realized the best way to achieve a balance is take each day as it comes and strive for discipline. When work is done, its truly done and Im just mom…
keep the fabulous posts coming. I am a daily reader and a definite fan! x d
Love that your sharing this reality. I have an (almost) 11 week old little lady and along with my blog I have my own HR Consulting company and still have not figured out the whole balance thing but I love the idea of one day a week that I can have appts outside the house and get dressed as my old self! Maybe when she is bigger I can start this! How did you find your babysitter?

I learned a lot about myself in the last 3 months since becoming a mom. Balance is definitely the key. I work full time and look fwd to the moments when I get home, so I can spend time with my nugget. Each day I take about an hour and have just baby and me time, whether we play, cuddle or I just read a story to him. On weekends, my hubby and I always do brunch and dinner with the baby, that way we can catch up and spend time together as a family. Pre baby, I would meet up with my friends for drinks and dinner after work about once a week, now it’s about twice a month, which is perfect for me. Once you become a mom, priorities definitely change, but maintaining a healthy balance in life is beneficial not only for mom, but for the whole family.
P.S. Love your blog and always look fwd to reading a new post! Just ordered one of the necklaces you were wearing on a previous post, can’t wait for it to arrive!
I work part time outside of the home which I love! I get time to take my son for lessons and just be with him, but also get my grown up contact and actually get to use my education. I think staying or working from home with a little one would be challenging..so I give you credit. They always seem to know when you are on an important call and act up then! 🙂 Everyone works out what is right for their own family as long as there is love it’s all good!
