I was back in Houston this weekend and vowed not to leave without a few pictures after returning home last weekend empty handed.  On Saturday, my husband snapped these pictures of me before we meet friends at the pool to soaked up some sun and grill out.  The outfit is so simple I almost didn’t think it was worthy of a post, but then I decided the simplicity of it is what makes is so great!  You know that article of clothing that never seems to make it back in the closet because you can’t wait to throw it on the second it gets back from the laundry?  I think I found that item for this summer with these boyfriend shorts.

I topped off the outfit (literally) with a must have spring fashion accessory, a fedora hat, that is both practical and fashionable. I love how a hat can take a basic outfit like this one to the next level and make it chic.

And thanks to my wonderful mother, I even have the pictures I promised you here of the gorgeous Texas bluebonnets that are blooming all along the highways.  Enjoy!
