You guys, I am so excited! After almost a year in our house, it is FINALLY coming together! I can’t wait to have a completed beautiful backdrop for more fun home post like this! The curtains were literally hung the day of this shoot and I am still waiting on the wall paper and a few other little things, but oh so soon, I will have a completed dinning room to shoot more fun entertaining post for you!
But without further ado, this is our Thanksgiving table!
I am in love with how it turned out. I love mixing our gold wedding china with more casual elements to keep the table from feeling too formal and stuffy. (Because let’s be honest, this small town girl isn’t very formal.) I found these brass candle sticks and lanterns at Crate and Barrel. I knew they were perfect to dress down our china, but also for every day book shelf styling, our Christmas mantel and more…
I have full on baby brain (what they call it when you forget things when you are pregnant) and left the Waterford glasses off the table for half the shoot, but you get the idea, right?!
Thanksgiving has always been one of my favorite holidays (second only to Christmas, of course). Traditionally, we would go to my grandparents house with my 9 first cousins and all my grandfathers siblings and their children, as well. It wasn’t unusual to have 50 – 75 at our Thanksgiving lunch. My grandmother (who passed away a year ago this month) was the preferred cook so everyone would always ask which dishes were hers as they passed through the food line. I can taste her dressing and smell her pies cooking in the oven just thinking about it! I miss her every day, but the upcoming holidays make me wish she was here even more.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family! xo, CHK
