One of the things I was most excited about when we bought the house was having a real, working fireplace! We may not get too many cold nights in Houston, but we aren’t afraid to use it in 60 degree weather. It’s all relative, am I right? When you are use to 100 degrees, 60 degrees feels cold! (I would make fun of my mom when she would wear her coat in NYC on a beautiful spring or fall day, now I get it).
We had our first cool night last week so I took the opportunity to start a fire and make a hot chocolate bar. (Don’t worry, I made it the perfect temperature of not too hot to be a risk to the boys, but still warm enough for me to drink it!) It’s a little tricky keeping ‘warm’ chocolate the right temperature because if it cools down any it isn’t warm enough, but that is where our bobble Insulate came in handy! The Insulate held the perfect temperature drink for the duration of our little party. (It can actually keep beverages hot for up to 12 hours and cold for up to 24!) And let’s be honest, I also love it because it is super cute, but also user-friendly – hello, dishwasher safe! I found ours online at Anthropologie, but they are available in stores, as well!
Knox had fun adding whipped cream and sprinkles to his while I prefer a little cinnamon and marshmallows.
Andrew may not be old enough to get in on the hot chocolate action, but he quickly figured out how to get his little hands in the bowl of marshmallows any time I leaned in close enough! Ha!
These pictures melt my heart. As crazy as this year has been adjusting to life with two little boys, I look at their little faces and want to freeze time.
