Every few months I welcome the change in temperature and wardrobe. Having 4 true seasons is one of my favorite things about living in the Northeast. After a hot summer, there is nothing more exciting than the first crisp, cool days of fall. (Equally, after a brutal winter, there is nothing more exciting than the first welcome days of sunshine!)

The temperatures can be tricky in these early days of fall – I get hot walking in the sun, cold sitting in the shade. So, I always wear layers that can be easily shed to accommodate my fickle mood. As I have mentioned previously, blazers are a favorite staple of mine (before and during pregnancy). Although I am an advocate for splurging on the classic colors and silhouettes that you will pull out season after season, I am all about finding a trendier piece at a more affordable price.

I love the menswear vibe this season so I was immediately drawn to this navy plaid print from ASOS. It isn’t maternity so I just layer it over a maternity top and a favorite pair of jeans. I have also paired it with boyfriend jeans for a more casual vibe and if I wasn’t 32 weeks pregnant, I would probably go with the matching trousers!
