I am still sharing images we shot in NYC before our move to Houston. (Thank goodness I planned ahead because the housing search, catching up with friends and exploring a new city is taking up most of my time! Not to mention that it is hard to look cute when 90% of your wardrobe is in storage.) As I write this post I am wondering where in the world storage unit these pants could be because they are so comfortable and the light weight fabric would be perfect for the hot climate. I styled them for a casual day running around the city here, but I also love dressing them up with heels and a fun top (last seen here).
This little coffee shop window was one of my favorite pit stops in NYC. Knox and I would stroll up, and I would order my iced café con leche. Now, I get so excited for drive thru Starbucks (because I don’t have to get Knox out of his car seat)! If you have any cute, yummy local coffee spots in Houston, I’m all ears!

Pajama pants are the best thing ever invented. After coffee, of course 😉

Blacksmith! Their biscuits and coffee are amazing. Boomtown and Southside Espresso are also good. There are just so many little hidden coffee gems here.
I love your little black bag! This is such a great casual outfit!

Very cute outfit! This outfit will be my inspiration for my “girls night out” tonight. Dinner and movie ‘CHEF!’ with a good friend. Although I have a similar hat might skip it!
Thanks for the inspiration

yes!! to agree with a poster below, totally worth a visit: Boomtown (milk and honey latte is my faaaave), Southside Espresso, Catalina Coffee, Righteous Roasters (not sure if they have a storefront, but you can find their cold brew in stock at Manready Mercantile in the Heights, on 19th!) Caphin (vietnamese cold brew coffee) is also popular and popping up everywhere. I’ve seen it at Whole Foods, Central Market and several “Mercantile” shops in different neighborhoods (there might be more but there’s for sure one in Montrose on Hawthorne and one in Rice Village)
Antidote has good coffee (and a cute backdrop) their yerba mate latte is excellent – also check out their sister shop Black Hole!
if you want tea, you might also try Te House of Tea (at Fairview and Woodhead) – I used to be a barista there. 130 kinds of tea (many of which are high-grade handpicked loose leaf or house blends), blooming tea, french press coffee, Turkish-style snacks (including menemen and Turkish espresso!), crepes, vegan/GF/vegetarian menu and authentic Asian fusion dinner menu (the owner is from Hong Kong!)
happy sipping and snacking from a Houston foodie (:
Oh my, you are amazing! Thank you so much! Can’t wait to start exploring!
I really love any sort of slouchy pants right now. You’ve styled this pair perfectly!

Welcome to Houston! I’m a city-girl transplant from Chicago. I just discovered your blog through redbook. Very excited about the find! I recently turned 35 and had this crisis about everything related to my look. While my style has evolved over the years, the general look has been the same (it’s hard to get TOO experimental when you’re an engineer). So, I’m looking forward to getting some tips on freshening up my look!!
