As a commercial pilot’s daughter, I’ve been fortunate enough to have had my share of air travel over the years. With Spring Break coming up I wanted to share a few of my in-flight beauty must-haves that I’ve discovered over the years and are especially helpful for longer international flights. This is the exact routine I used when I went to Germany a few months ago and despite the jet lag, my skin felt moisturized and hydrated! Read below for the few products that I use while on the plane and a few that I like to apply after landing to avoid blemishes and to ensure my skin stays hydrated.

As you probably know, airplane air lacks humidity which is why it can be easy to get dehydrated if you’re not careful. To keep my skin from drying out (and breaking out), I apply moisturizer to my face, eyes, and hands while on the plane. For my face, I love Avรจne’s Cicalfate Restorative Skin Cream and for extra TLC around my eyes I apply It Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Eye Cream. I hate having cracked hands so I keep Aveda Hand Relief Moisturizing Creme with me and apply as needed throughout the flight.
Once I arrive at my destination, I like to do a quick refresh at the hotel before heading out for the day. I recently bought this eye mask at the airport and love using it after landing to help de-puff and feel bright eyed. This hydrating mask takes 10 minutes and leaves your face feeling nourished after the flight.
Before bed, I use this 3-5 minute peel to exfoliate all of the dirt and pollutants that might have absorbed into my pores on the flight. I follow the peel with a thorough evening routine with this rejuvenating serum and retinol night oil followed by my restorative skin cream. This might seem like a lot of steps, but it’s totally worth it the next morning to have glowing, unblemished skin!

These are great ideas. We are flying soon and I’m pinning so I can come back to it the night before. Thanks for sharing.
Hello Caroline,
I am a flight attendant for the same airline as your father (congratulations to him on his retirement!) I fly international flights out of LAX. Recently I discovered, and soon after bought several tubes so I am never without, Clarins Hydra Essential Moisture replenishing lip balm. It is in a aqua blue tube so easy to find in dim cabins and is so thick and creamy. Dry lips are awful in flight. Highly recommend this product and wanted to share. Bon voyage ๐
