After a week of hearty Thanksgiving meals, this past weekend has been full of Christmas decorating, family downtime, and of course holiday music and movies. Thereโs nothing better than curling up on the sofa with *very* full bellies and watching a classic holiday film. Weโre sharing a few of our favorites that are perfect to watch with the whole family. Read on below for our list!
Elf
It doesnโt get much better than Will Ferrell as Buddy the Elf. This movie makes us laugh so hard that we cry, and also makes us shed a few happy tears. We love the New York City-at-Christmastime setting and the sweet romance between Buddy the Elf and Zoe Deschanel.
Itโs a Wonderful Life
This heartwarming 1940s classic tells the story of a guardian angel who is sent to save the life of George Bailey, a husband and father who is feeling down about his life on Christmas Eve.
The Santa Clause
This 90s comedy starring Tim Allen as a dad who turns into Santa Clause is always entertaining for both kiddos and adults.
Charlie Brown Christmas
This animated classic from the ’60s is still a favorite with kiddos today. And it has one of our favorite holiday soundtracks!
Home Alone
Home Alone is always on our must-watch holiday movie list. The plot of a young boy left at home to set up booby traps for bad guys makes it a favorite with kids!
Christmas Vacation
There are a couple of close your eyes / ears moments for kids in this movie, but for the most part itโs a family-friendly comedy about quirky relatives and holiday traditions.
Miracle on 34th Street
A true holiday classic, this film takes place between the Thanksgiving Day Parade and Christmas Day in New York City. This heartwarming story makes you want to believe in holiday magic.
