One of our favorite parts about Houston is that there are always new shops and restaurants popping up. We are sharing 6 new-ish spots on our radar that are definitely worth checking out this weekend if youโ€™re in town. Read on below for our list. Happy Friday!

Light Years Wine Bar

This cozy wine bar and shop is the perfect way to start or end your evening. Instead of a menu, you simply tell the staff what type of wine you typically drink and theyโ€™ll recommend a couple of options. The wine they serve here is natural wine, which is really fun if you havenโ€™t tasted it yet. They have dozens of bottles for sale too that you can either enjoy there or take home and save for a later day. Donโ€™t miss their meat and cheese platter โ€” itโ€™s the perfect snack to enjoy while sipping!

Paloma & Co Shop

Interior designers Paloma Contreras and Devon Liedtke recently opened the most beautiful shop with amazing decor finds โ€” from tabletop and candles to art and furniture. Whether or not you are in the market for splurging on new pieces, itโ€™s definitely worth swinging by just to browse!

Vibrant

If you havenโ€™t checked out Vibrant in Montrose yet, be sure to get there ASAP! Whether youโ€™re grabbing a coffee and healthy sweet to-go, or sitting down for brunch, this all day restaurant is beautiful and super nutritious. Everything is gluten free and dairy free, and most importantly, delicious.

Superica

Nothing says โ€œweekendโ€ like Tex-Mex and margaritas, and we are loving this new trendy addition to the Houston Tex-Mex family! Superica in the Heights is owned by the same restaurant group as State of Grace, and the restaurant is both beautiful and muy autรฉntico.

Flower Child

We are loving Flower Child in Uptown Houston! Itโ€™s healthy and delicious with a super cute atmosphere. Perfect for a girlsโ€™ lunch or casual dinner. Donโ€™t miss their amazing gluten free desserts!!

Mastranto’s

It seems like the Heights has a new restaurant opening every week! Mastranto’s on Studewood is a quaint neighborhood spot open for breakfast and dinner (closed for lunch). Grab a fresh pastry and latte in the morning (there are also lots of heartier dishes), and enjoy their refined global cuisine at dinner — it’s a small selection, but it won’t disappoint!
