The few extra square feet in our new living room provided us with just the right amount of space to finally get a bar cart! I love the personality they can add to a living space, not to mention the functionality when entertaining. I call this one from Lulu & Georgia the “mini bar” because it is slightly smaller than your average bar cart, which makes it perfect for any New York City apartment or small space.

I had so much fun styling ours, I thought it would be fun to share a few tips to keep your bar cart stylishly fun and full of personality!
Natures Calling:Β I love the natural colors fresh fruit and flowers bring to the top shelf. Β The lemons and limes are obviously not just for decoration, they add flavor to anyone’s drink of choice. Β The pink roses add a fun pop of color and bring a special touch to your entertaining area.
All in the Details: Although the most important characteristic of any drink is the flavor, don’t under-estimate the pretty packaging when you are going to display your bottles. Β Look for pretty labels, bottles with unique shapes and colors that coΓΆrdinate with your other decorations.
On Display: Use your bar cart to display some of your favorite glasses. Β I love a personalized monogram so I chose to put some of FMK’s monogrammed low ball glasses on our bottom shelf.
Form meets Function: There are certain things you need handy at a bar: a bottle opener, a cocktail recipe book, straws, coasters, napkins, ice tongs, and an ice bucket. Β Just because these are necessities doesn’t mean they have to look like basics. Β Find special pieces that speak to your personal style and add flare to your entertaining space.
Always be Prepared:Β Always have your favorite bottle ready for a spontaneous occasion. Β You never know when someone might stop by.
Double Take: If it isn’t convenient for you toΒ keep your cart/table dressed as a bar, make use of the piece as an accent table when the party is over and style it with a lamp, books and your favorite nic nacs.
