{antique plate rack displaying antique pewter and blue willow}
After scouring the Upper West Side for three days, getting fired by my real estate agent, staying in a hotel that still gives me nightmares, being rehired by my real estate agent, paying a security deposit, broker’s fee, and first month’s rent… we had an apartment in Manhattan!
And now it is time for the fun part – decorating! What better room to start with than the kitchen? Our kitchen has one wall with a fuse box right in the middle that was a complete sight for sore eyes. Luckily, I already had the perfect solution to turn this wall into the focal point of the room.
I love the contrast you get when mixing antique pewter with blue willow. I started my collection about a year ago and I am always looking for new unique pieces. I found this antique plate rack at Canterbury Court, an English antique store in downtown Corsicana, Texas. It is the perfect way to display my favorite pieces and cover up the unsightly wall. Let’s just hope we don’t blow a fuse anytime soon.
You forgot to say your amazing Mom was with you all the way!
You would love the Polish Pottery around here. I’ll have to keep my eye out for something to add to you collection! 😉
