Today is an exciting day for CITC! I finally updated my stock lens for a .50mm! For those of you who don’t know what that means (because I wouldn’t have before starting this blog), basically, you should notice better quality images. I can’t wait to start playing around with it!
If you know any photography tricks or great photography websites I should read, please share in the comments.
Yay – I just ordered the exact same lens and am so anxious for mine to arrive! 🙂
can’t tell if that’s a Nikon or Canon, but KenRockwell.com is a great resource for tips, tricks, and product reviews. He also has user guides he wrote for certain Nikons that are much more useful than the ones that come with the cameras.
I just did the same for my D50 that I’ve had since college – it really makes a complete world of difference! Have fun experimenting – definitely the best way to learn a new lens 🙂
Lightroom 4 and get the Nik software add ons…great investment and will allow you to color and exposure correct, add highlights , and stylize your images. Really cool stuff. Great job on the blog Caroline. Proud of you.
I love that lens! It’s on my camera 90% of the time. If you are not using an editing software yet, photoshop elements is a good one to start with. You can also try Scott Kelby’s books for photography tips (www.scottkelby.com). 🙂

I took a few classes with Okello Dunkley (www.dslrworkshops.com), and it made a HUGE difference. He really is the best, and recommends that lens as a first purchase for your DSLR!
Yeees congrats! Can’t wait to see more pixrures!!
Caroline, I love this site called https://www.alexbeadonphotography.com/blog/ It has great little tips and editing things called actions (for photoshop if you have it) Hope you love your new lense!
