As a mom, I now think about my overall health a lot more than I used to in my 20’s. I do little things like make sure I am drinking enough water every day to staying on top of all my preventative doctors’ visits. When LensCrafters reached out to tell me about their new state of the art technology rolling out in two Houston locations (River Oaks Shopping Center and Fairfield Town Center), I embarrassingly admitted that I haven’t been to the eye doctor since starting my job at Gilt Groupe (probably 5 years ago).
To share a little background, I had Lasik surgery about 10 years ago, but about 5 years ago I noticed that I needed glasses for driving at night and reading presentations in meetings. But I recently wondered if my old prescription was still enough. Well, this sounded like the perfect opportunity to find out (and to pick out a cute new pair of glasses, of course)!
To say I was impressed by my experience would be an understatement. The new LensCrafters is located in the upscale River Oaks Shopping Center so it is convenient and easy to access (Plus, you can grab a Starbucks and do a little shopping while you are there, too.) During my eye exam I experienced LensCrafters new technology, Clarifye, where you literally get to see images and maps of your eyes to check for things such as dry eye, astigmatism, and so much more. After the pre-testing, I went into an exam room to check my sight, and learned my vision had worsened a bit (i went from a -0.50 to a -0.75). I had the chance to speak with Dr. Nishi and ask any questions before the fun part.
Once I had my new prescription, I went next door to select a new pair of frames. The selection at LensCrafters was huge. After trying on several shapes and styles, the store associate helped me decide on a pair of Prada glasses and Versace sunglasses. He then used the AccuFit technology to fit me for my frames and then took images on the MyLook App so I could see myself from different angles in the glasses of my choice.
I am so excited about my new frames and being able to see more clearly than I remember being possible! I am also super excited to have a pair of prescription sunglasses so I don’t have to pick between my glasses and sunglasses during the day.
This post is brought to you in partnership with LensCrafters. Thank you for supporting the products and brands we love at HOUSE of HARPER!
