I know I am not alone when I say this, but it feels like there just aren’t enough hours in the day and whether you are a working mom or a college student our responsibilities and expectations are growing at an alarming pace. And at the end of the day, there simply just aren’t enough hours to get it all done. (If only we didn’t need to sleep!)
Luckily for us, we are in a time when technology is catching up to our busy lifestyle to help us divide and conquer everything from our grocery shopping to now our personal shopping. Trunk Club recently gave me the opportunity to try their personal styling services and it was such an amazing experience!
When I had my over-the-phone consultation with my dedicated stylist I shared with her the brands I love and explained how my lifestyle can shift from a meeting with a fashion client to a playdate with the boys in a matter of an hour so I need a wardrobe that can adapt with me. I also stressed that time isn’t exactly a luxury I have as a working mom so utilizing their stylist to save time on hunting down the latest trends on my own would be a huge win! We talked through the current trends I am excited about adding to my wardrobe and discussed specific styles, colors and silhouettes that work for my lifestyle and body type. At the end of the call I totally felt like she knew what I was looking for, and I couldn’t wait for my trunk to arrive so i could check it all out!
As someone who has worked in fashion my whole working life and who continues to grow my career around the industry, I am a confident shopper. I know what I like. I know what works.
I usually stick to it whether I realize it or not because my friends are always telling me “that looks like you, Caroline.” There certainly isn’t anything wrong with having a specific style, but I thought it was so fun to see what someone else would pick out for me while still staying within my comfort zone. For example, I know I am a mom, but I have been avoiding the ‘mom jean’ trend like the plague. In my mind, there was a reason they went out of style, and let’s be honest, I don’t believe the term ‘mom jean’ was created to be a compliment on their flattering fit.
When I opened my trunk I was intrigued to find a pair waiting for me to try. Much to my surprise, I put them on and actually thought they were cute and surprisingly flattering! And keeping to my working-mom-on-the-go style, I excitingly found that my stylist included two ways to wear them. A casual playdate look with a t-shirt and flats to wear out with the boys or an on-trend 70’s look to wear when on the job. Score, and score!

Another favorite item was this navy shift dress by Cupcakes and Cashmere. In the theme of mixing and matching accessories to carry me from day to night, the dress looked great with the same pairs of nude flats and heels. Plus, she also included a go-to denim jacket to layer into the fall months and cooler evenings.

This service literally can cover everything from your sunglasses to your shoes and create a theme that not only matches your lifestyle, but where the pieces can easily be mixed and matched together so you don’t have to think twice about what goes with what. I highly recommend Trunk Club after my amazing experience. This is the perfect service wether you are seeking styling advice or are just short on time. Their services are available throughout the country with free shipping and no subscription cost or obligations. And the best part is that Trunk Club is a Nordstrom owned company so you can expect the same level of superior service and quality of brands that you might find in stores.
This post is brought to you in partnership with Trunk Club. Thank you for supporting the brands we love here at HOUSE of HARPER!

Love this, those are some great items! The Mom jeans, too funny, I always stayed away from those, especially when becoming a Mama. But girl you can pull them off, too cute!
