My mom and husband switched places this weekend. She came to New York to spend a girls weekend with me, and he went to Texas to spend time with his family and friends. Being the amazingly supportive mother that she is, Mom stepped right in and took over his role of photographer. As you can see, she is quite a natural. I tried to talk her in to moving to New York to be my photographer full time, but somehow, I don’t think I got too far.
We spent our weekend indulging in delicious food, strolling through the city, shopping and visiting a few museums. These photos were taken in my neighborhood at the Museum of Natural History. We both thought it would make the perfect background for this safari chic dress. The olive green dress plays up the safari trend, but the softer fabric and gold stud detail add a feminine and dressy feel.
Styling Tip: Make sure to mix your one element of safari with a softer or more colorful piece so you don’t look like you are driving a jeep in the Serengeti.
LOVING the neutrals! visits from mom are always the best! i have my mom take pics when she comes over too! =)
Thanks Jenn! Visits from mom are the best! And having another photographer adds an extra bonus. 🙂
