I’m super excited to announce our second Open House panel next Wednesday, February 6th at WeWork Galleria in Houston. We held our first Open House panel in the fall and the discussion was all about starting and owning a business with some of my favorite lady entrepreneurs — more details on the first event below!
Next week our panelists will be discussing women’s health and wellness — a category that I feel like is super relevant right now. We’re partnering with Memorial Hermann as well as experts in the fitness, nutrition, clean beauty, and mental health spaces to provide you with helpful tips and information. If you’re not in Houston, be sure to tune in on Instagram Live! Read on below for more details and be sure to RSVP while there are still spaces left!
As I was thinking about the future of HOUSE of HARPER and how I want to grow, I kept coming back to this idea of community and providing a safe space for women to discuss topics that are important to them. While the digital space is an amazing way to connect with like-minded people all over the world, I also think it’s so important to interact offline — which sparked the idea for Open House.
You’ve probably seen by now that HOUSE of HARPER has been officing at WeWork’s Houston Galleria location, which has been the perfect backdrop for our Open House series. Each floor has a communal area that is ideal for mingling, as well as plenty of space and equipment (i.e. a projector screen and audio system) for our panel discussions.
In November, we kicked off Open House with a few of my favorite local business women — Bailey McCarthy of Biscuit Home, Hunter Bell of Hunter Bell NYC, and Marie Flanigan of Marie Flanigan Interiors. It was amazing to have those three women in the same place talking about starting and growing their businesses. We had a fantastic turnout of around 50 women who were able to network and interact with each other and our panelists. We were also able to show off goodies from other amazing business ladies including food by Marla Murphy of The Blonde Pantry, flower arrangements by JoyBox, and take home favors from Kendra Scott.
Next week, our women’s health and wellness panel will be led by Dr. Elyse Cho, CNM (Certified Nurse Midwife) from Memorial Hermann, Erin O’Leary Stewart the co-owner of DEFINE body & mind and founder of DEFINE foods, Estela Cockrell the founder of Switch2Pure, and Morgan Taylor Pruet a counselor with Memorial Counseling Group. We’ll be diving into women’s health, mental health, the importance of clean beauty and household products, fitness, nutrition, work / life balance, and many other important topics.
Space is limited, so be sure to sign up here! We hope to see you next week. Be sure to tune in on Instagram Live if you’re not able to attend!
