When we bought our house almost one year ago, one of the perks we were excited about was the half bath off the kitchen for guest when entertaining, (We live in a traditional 3 bedroom ranch style home.) but due to the previous state of the room, I often just kept it closed off and sent guest to the hall bathroom. You can imagine my excitement when I teamed up with Lowe’s to bring my vision to life and create a powder room that I was happy to use everyday and to share with our guest!
You can scroll through the slide show at the bottom of the post to view more before pictures. The walls were painted a dark brown, the curtains were a green and pink floral print and the vanity door would never stay closed. The hardware was mostly a dark oil rubbed iron and the floor never looked clean. I wanted something completely opposite: light, bright and happy! FMK wasn’t so sure about my design choices when I was selecting all the champagne bronze hardware and gold wallpaper, but luckily he trusted me and despite the feminine appeal, he actually likes it too! He told me the other day that every time he goes in there he likes it more. 😉
I have linked to all the product details at the bottom of this post, but everything is from Lowe’s except the curtains, wallpaper, and art above the toilet. The beautiful vanity was the first thing I selected. It came in a lovely french grey, but when I got the wallpaper up, I realized that wasn’t going to work for my space so I painted it the same white as the trim on the walls. I also switched out the brushed nickel hardware that comes with it for the champagne bronze you see in the pictures. (The original was beautiful, but it didn’t go with my gold them.) They were both easy switches and I LOVE the way it all turned out!
I love the basketweave marble floors! They are beautiful and they don’t show every piece of dirt. It is such a classic pattern and I love the black and white contrast with the gold
Since the wallpaper is so busy, I went with simple black and white curtains and wall art. I also love how they tie the floors in with the rest of the room!

Yes, we contracted out the labor for the plumbing, wallpaper and tile. 😉
Love!! Looks amazing! I am embarking on a powder room makeover right now too. I might steal that faucet–so gorgeous!
You did such a good job with the design!
I love almost everything you do. Any chance you’d do a post on wallpaper? I’m intrigued to see what you’d come up with.
Do you just mean images of wallpapers I like? I have done some before, just browse the interiors sections. 😉
Oh my gosh this is an amahhhhzing transformation! I’m not much of a home makeover person, so I picked a house that already had nice bathrooms 🙂 But if I ever get tired of what I have, I want to make something like this happen!
