I have a confession; Halloween has never really been my thing. I stress about finding the perfect costume and usually wait to the very last minute to throw something together (that ends up being lame and predictable). However, fall, IS my thing. I love fall. Everything about it. Pumpkin flavored everything. Changing leaves. Layered dressing. Football season. Cooler temperatures.
So for Knox’s first Halloween, I wanted to start fun traditions for us in our new city. Last week we visited St. Luke’s Pumpkin Patch to pick out some pumpkins. (I can’t wait to be in our own house to decorate the front door with pretty mums and pumpkins!) And when Knox is big enough, we will add the tradition of actually decorating the pumpkins.
We are quickly learning that Halloween is a big deal in our new neighborhood, and our sweet future neighbors have already started including us in the festivities. We will be house hoping between a few friends’ homes in the neighborhood on actual Halloween night. It will be a fun evening of meeting our new neighbors, playing with old friends, trick-or-treating and eating a lot of candy (my favorite part)!
Knox and I are excited to be kicking off our partnership with Fisher-Price this month! Stay tuned for more fun social collaborations in the months to come, but this month I want to see your Halloween costumes! Be sure to tag your Halloween pictures with #FPHalloween so I can browse everyone’s creative costumes to get some ideas for next year! Bonus, we will be picking our favorite submission to regram on Fisher Price’s social media!
// Knox dressed up as a Texas cowboy when we visited his Sugar & Cappy’s this week. //
// The white pumpkins are his my favorite! //
// “You want me to look where, Mom?” //
// chasing the cat (which he now understands is not a ‘dog!’ //
// Mom dressed up for the party, too. (Told you our costumes were predictable 😉 ) //
// cutest cowboy I’ve ever seen! //
// Trick-or-Treat! //
After trick-or-treating around the neighborhood we plan to bring the babies back to the house for a little playtime before turning in for the evening. Is there anything cuter than Halloween jammies?
// always on the move! Knox took his first steps last week, but he still prefers crawling. //
// I remember playing with these rings when I was little. They are still a hit, Knox loves stacking them! //
// All aboard the train (such concentration)! //
// Meet Marcus, Knox’s adorable cousin! //
// Knox is surprisingly so gentle and sweet with his ‘baby!’ //
What are your favorite Halloween traditions? Any fun recipes or games I need to know about before next year? What is your all time favorite Halloween costume? Send me some creative ideas so I can be the cool mom next year. 😉
This post is brought to you in partnership with Fisher-Price. Thank you for supporting the brands that help make HOUSE of HARPER possible!
