A great pair of chinos is one of those things that every woman needs in her wardrobe, and they are no longer just for causal days running around in flats. I love to mix the traditionally casual items in my wardrobe with dressier accessories to elevate the whole look. I paired my chinos with a cute peplum top and heels for a morning meeting to create a perfect mix of casual and professional. I love these navy chinos for a fun alternative to another pair of basic denim.
For a more casual take on a chino, I styled this comfortable skirt with my new favorite flat boots and a perfect stripe t-shirt (two more closet staples) for a day running around town with my boys. I chose to dress the pants up and to create a more casual look for the skirt to break the stereotypes of a chino pant and a skirt. I wanted to show how easily you can elevate the chino pant with some dressier accessories, as well, how easy it is to create a casual day look with a skirt.
These two versatile closet staples work so well when mixed and matched with causal or chic elements for two completely different takes on the chino. And since both outfits are completely interchangeable (I can definitely pair the skirt with heels and the cute peplum top and vice versa) I will be getting a lot of wear out of these pieces!

So chic! I’m going to have to check them out, I don’t own any khakis/chinos.
