I have a confession, I am one of those people who gets overly excited about a new season and immediately wants to switch out my wardrobe. Whether the weather calls for the wardrobe change or not. Now that we are living in Houston, October doesn’t necessarily mean fall, but I am tired of wearing my summer dresses and shorts. So, I am trying to find ways to incorporate my fall wardrobe without sweating it out the second I step outside.
I wore this outfit earlier in the week when we experienced a slight temperature drop. It was perfect because the short sleeve blouse and light weight cape were light layers that worked for the temperatures, but still allowed me to feel like I was dressing for fall. Capes are great because if you do get too hot, they are easy to shed quickly (and just as easy to throw back on when you enter an air-conditioned building).
Fall boots and handbags are also a great way to add a bit of fall to your wardrobe without getting over heated. I love these over the knee boots and they are perfect to style with dresses for a transitional look. It was also a new way to change up my typical white t-shirt and jeans outfit!
