I wore this outfit to the Lowe’s first Manhattan store grand opening last week in NYC. The first store opened on the Upper West Side just a few blocks away from our first NYC apartment. (With the second one scheduled to open in Chelsea in early fall.) I can’t even begin to tell you how amazing the store was. Put everything you image about a traditional Lowe’s out of your mind and think stylish home decor (lamps, throws and pillows), easy access to household goods (like the Honest Company), life-size virtual appliance shopping and (my favorite) a potting station to take your plants home ready for your terrace!
It was so incredible being back in one of my favorite cities, even if it was just a quick trip. I woke up and walked past our old apartment, grabbed a cup of coffee at Joe’s, and then walked through Central Park before heading downtown.
I met my friends, Christine and Lydia, for lunch at Cafe Cluny in the West Village and then strolled around the charming neighborhood streets where we shot these pictures. This is actually the stoop (NYC term for door steps) where they would film scenes outside of Carrie Bradshaw’s apartment in SATC. In the show she lives in the Upper East Side, but in reality the scenes are actually filmed on Perry Street.

This is all kinds of fabulous. And a little more approachable than most of what SJP wore on those steps 🙂
