rainy day style_hunter boots_7

Houston has received so much rain as of late that it has prevented us from getting out to shoot new style content for you.  So when it happened again this Tuesday, we decided to make lemonade out of… rain.  And we shot a rainy day outfit and even played in a puddle.

When I sat down to write this post I literally googled “US Cities with the highest annual rainfall” because I was certain Houston would come out in the top 10.  But, I was wrong, we fall 10 inches shot of the Top 10.  I guess that is one title I am okay with letting someone else claim.

If you do live in an area with high average annual rainfall, you probably are already equipped with the most stylish rain gear.  But if you don’t, now is the perfect time to invest before the cooler fall months.  When we lived in NYC, it was more practical to wear our rain boots than our snow boots in the winter months because the snow would turn to slush by noon and our feet and legs would be wet if you weren’t sporting the proper foot wear.  A trench coat is also a must in any climate because it is such a classic staple for any cool day whether it be a spring or fall day in the north or a winter day in Houston.  I hope you are enjoying the last official month of summer, I for one can’t wait to break out the fall styles!
