If you haven’t noticed around here, my style philosophy as a working mom is more often than not what I like to call ‘effortlessly chic’. My goal is to make the getting ready process as quick and easy as possible so one piece dressing, like this simple shirt dress, is often the best style solution. I loved the orange for summer (and, of course, HOUSE of HARPER) and it was a welcome change to the abundance of neutrals in my closet.
Speaking of simple dressing, have you guys been to COS (Collection of Style)? It is H&M’s more sophisticated sister brand and it recently opened in River Oaks District (as well as 27 other locations last year). Their style philosophy is the opposite of H&M’s fast fashion and only creates two classic collections per year, but they kept with their signature affordable price-points to make it a must visit in my book! (A lot of the collection is a nod to Marni making it perfect for expecting moms, as well.)
My talented photographer, Kate, was shooting with some butterflies in one of her family sessions last week so we decided to have a little fun with an extra one and shot in front of this butterfly wall. The real one took a liking to my handbag, I can’t blame him. 😉
Please excuse the fact that I look like a hot, sweaty mess. I promise I actually put on make-up and fixed my hair for this post, but this is Houston in July for you. It’s worth the sacrifice for the warm weather the February (and the rest of the year). 😉

Beyond chic! Loving how you styled it with neutral accessories, and I don’t blame that butterfly, either 🙂 COS is such a chic line, I remember stumbling into one of their stores in Europe a few years ago and thought, “why don’t we have this in the States?!” You are so lucky to have it in Houston! Have a great day, lady!
That bold color is INCREDIBLE on you. SO gorgeous!

I love that Celine bag and have been looking at it for awhile! One question, do you find that your clothing color transfers onto it? I wear a lot of dark denim and have had that problem with handbags.
Does this run tts? I love it!
Yes, I stuck with my usual size and didn’t have any issues. 🙂
