One of the things we were most excited about moving back to Texas is the ability to hop in the car and drive somewhere to getaway for the weekend. Don’t get me wrong, we loved heading east of the city on a summer weekend, but it was never easy. (“Should we take the train or the jitney, traffic is going to be a nightmare on the Long Island Expressway?”)
Friday afternoon, we hopped in the car and headed to the Knapp’s cabin for a relaxing weekend with friends + family. It was just what I needed and so fun to watch Knox play with our friend’s children. He loves the pool and balls (“ba ba!”) right now. I know I say this every few months, but he is at such a fun age! We are soaking up every minute.

When is the LIE not a nightmare? I can’t think of a thing I dread less, but the beaches are so worth it. A weekend at a lake house sounds like heaven, little Knox is adorable, and I love your outfit!

Nothing, and I do mean nothing, beats a weekend at the lake with family and friends. Those comprise some of my best childhood memories, and I’m glad that Knox is getting to experience it, too!
