You know that saying that you don’t really appreciate everything your own mom did for you until you become a mom yourself? I have been feeling that way a lot lately. My mom is a mother of three (I have an older sister and a younger brother) and my father is a commercial airline pilot. Because of my dad’s career, this meant my mom single parented 3-days out of most weeks when we were growing up. I don’t know about you, but I start to get overwhelmed around 5pm if Fred isn’t home. Throw in another child and I would be even more overwhelmed! (We hope to be blessed with another babe someday, just not yet!) So when I am able to make my life easier with today’s technology, I try to imagine how my mom did it before the conveniences we have today.
Case in point, Amazon Prime Pantry. (Major props to you mom, because I don’t remember life before Prime!)
To get through my ever-growing to-do list for our family and for my business, I work a lot after the kids go to bed. But this can get tricky since a lot of businesses aren’t open after bedtime, and even with just two, it feels too overwhelming on some days to load everyone up and run errands during the day. (With each child I think it doubles how long it should take to get anything done, ha!)
We are so lucky to live in a digital age when all these challenges are met with solutions. I don’t know about you, but I ask myself daily what parents did before Amazon Prime and now I am asking myself the same question about Amazon Prime Pantry. If you aren’t familiar with Prime Pantry, it is the exclusive service offered to Amazon Prime members where you can shop a wide array of products from food, home cleaning supplies, beauty and baby items at a great value.
Not only is the service amazing because you can shop in the convenience of your own home (hello, 10pm pajama party!), but also for the amazing value. With Amazon Prime Pantry you are getting low-priced everyday essentials in every day sizes.
Another one of my favorite life hacks is instant brew coffee. So, of course, this was on my Prime Pantry shopping list! Being able to simply press a button and have a cup of fresh brewed coffee is a life saver when the boys wake me up in the early hours of the morning!
In the spirit of sharing little tips for making life easier today, this is another one of my favorites! I keep a few baskets with labels on them in the common areas of the house (living room/kitchen). Whenever I am picking up that room, I fill up the baskets with things that need to be put up. At the end of the day, I will actually deliver the baskets to the appropriate place, but this keeps me from running around the house all day picking up after three boys (yes, I said three.) 😉 I love these chalk labels because I can change the labels based on what I need that day.
A lot of life’s conveniences come with a price, but Amazon Prime Pantry, if you simply add five qualifying items to your cart, you get free shipping.) So you don’t even have to feel guilty about this simple pleasure!
